Who can have a homebirth?Licensed Midwives attend homebirths for low risk, term singleton pregnancies. We can not attend twins or breech deliveries in Florida. If you have questions regarding your unique situation, schedule a FREE consultation to discuss your health history with a Licensed Midwife to learn more about your risk status.
-
What is a Licensed Midwife?Licensed Midwives are experts in low risk pregnancy and birth. We attend births in the community setting - meaning in homes or birth centers. Licensed Midwives tend to have a holistic approach to care, meaning we use a balance of traditional modalities and modern evidence-based practices to care for our families. LMs are licensed and regulated in the state of Florida and are autonomous care providers. We are not Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs).
-
Is a Midwife the same as a doula?Nope! A Midwife is a medical provider - we oversee the health of you and your baby throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. We order labs and ultrasounds, and perform assessments throughout your care to make sure you and baby remain healthy and low risk. Doulas are a wonderful resource! They provide non-medical support throughout pregnancy, birth and postpartum. They may teach you labor coping tools, use techniques and tools to help you in labor, or help teach your partner ways to support you in labor. We love working alongside doulas and can give you recommendations!
-
What is the payment schedule?I require a 10% deposit at the first prenatal visit, and the remainder of the fee is divided into monthly payments with the final payment due at 36 weeks.
-
Do you take insurance? At this time, we are not in network with any private insurance companies or Medicaid. I can put you in contact with a biller that may be able to help you with reimbursement after your care is completed.
-
Do you offer any discounts?I do offer discounts for families in financial need, up to 50% off. Schedule a FREE consultation to discuss your specific needs.
